Affiliate disclosure
Apron and Aura is reader supported through affiliate commissions. This page explains how that works, in plain language.
How this site earns money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and then buy a product from the retailer, this site may earn a commission on that sale. The commission is paid by the retailer or the affiliate network, out of their margin.
Apron and Aura is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The site may also take part in other affiliate programs and networks for kitchen and beauty brands. The same principles on this page apply to those programs.
What it costs you
Using an affiliate link does not change the price you pay. You pay the price shown on the retailer page, whether you arrived there from this site, from a search engine, or by typing the address yourself. In some cases a retailer may offer a specific promotion through affiliate partners, and if that happens the guide will describe it as a promotion with its terms and end date as provided by the retailer.
How recommendations are made
Recommendations on this site are editorial. Products are chosen because they meet the quality bar described on the about page, not because they pay the highest commission. Commission rates differ by retailer and by category, and guides do not rank products by commission.
Guides are based on manufacturer specifications, published manuals and widely reported owner experience. This site does not claim to have personally tested a product unless a guide states clearly that it has, and how. Limits, drawbacks and reasons to skip a product are included on purpose, because a guide that only praises a product is not useful for a considered purchase.
Prices and availability
Prices, stock, shipping terms and return policies change without notice to this site. For that reason, this site does not list product prices in its guides. The retailer page governs. Check the current price, availability, warranty terms and return policy on the retailer page before you buy.
If a retailer returns an item or cancels an order, any commission connected to that sale is normally reversed by the program. That is a normal part of affiliate programs and it does not affect the reader.
Sponsored content
If a brand ever pays for placement on this site, or provides a product for review, that relationship will be disclosed clearly on the page concerned, at the top of the page. Paid placement will not be presented as an independent recommendation.
